Wayfair is redefining the way customers buy online and one of the key pillars of that strategy is to create a truly differentiated customer experience for large parcel items (e.g., couches, vanities).  To enable this differentiated experience, Wayfair is investing heavily to create the first-ever national large parcel supply chain all the way to the consumer’s home.  This is an exciting, fast-paced, and high-visibility initiative and we are looking for leaders who can help disrupt the status quo and redefine an industry.

Wayfair is looking for an entrepreneurial, driven and analytical manager to build and execute a fleet strategy for the final mile of our supply chain. The ideal candidate has a proven record of effectively driving results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company.  This role will be responsible for understanding and developing an approach to maintaining a new fleet of delivery fleet vehicles as well as determining the optimal solutions and opportunities for all activities relating to the vehicles including maintenance, ELDs and fuel. The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to quickly understand current trucking opportunities but is also always looking forward for new technological advancements. Trucking experience is not required.  Due to the highly cross-functional nature of the role, this person must possess strong business acumen and be comfortable building rapport with and delivering updates to diverse audiences.  The ideal candidate has experience driving results in a matrix organization, where communication, influencing others and prioritization are as valued as much as project execution and opportunity identification. 


  • Develop a brand-new function to support one of the most important initiatives at Wayfair in a brand new space
  • Create a scalable solution that can cover 40+ field sites while leveraging technology to stay efficient and productive
  • Innovate new ideas and solutions that are out of the box and allow Wayfair to cut costs and achieve efficiencies
  • Partner closely with field team to understand trucking needs, opportunities to maximize utilization and difficult routes
  • Identify hiring needs and help recruit, screen and train new team members
  • Move aggressively and quickly in a startup environment that leverages the resources of Wayfair
  • Pivot as needed to address unanticipated challenges and complexity in the business model
  • Monitor and regularly report performance trends and improvements to management


  • Bachelor Degree and MBA, or equivalent experience
  • Track record of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources
  • Management experience including hiring and training a team
  • Must have strong business acumen and demonstrated senior presence
  • Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in business and data analytics, Excel
