Senior Systems Analyst - Desktop Engineering

This position is located in our Global Headquarters at Copley Place in downtown Boston, with minimal travel. You’ll be working within the Wayfair IT department, which rolls up under Infrastructure Engineering.

The Desktop Engineering team has a mission to consistently provide a high level of service to Wayfair IT and all Wayfair employees. In this role you will partner with a number of engineering teams to help build the foundation for our end-user computer environment.  


  • Effectively design and implement high visibility projects with an emphasis on communication and testing    
  • Build tasks sequences for imaging thousand of endpoints from SCCM
  • Package Software in SCCM
  • Patch end points from SCCM
  • Recommend process improvements, technical enhancements, and projects to address operational issues and emerging end user needs
  • Create test plans and ensure junior team members are adhering to proper QA standards
  • Create scripts to automate common operational tasks with in Office 365 (Powershell), Google Suite (Python), and Slack (Python)
  • Lead Administrator for MS Exchange
  • Mentor and train junior members of the team. Build a training curriculum that focuses on making all of the desktop engineers experts in Exchange Administration, SCCM, and Powershell


  • 4 + years experience in a System Analyst role. Prior experience in a Senior System Analyst/Administrator role is highly desirable
  • A BA or BS degree from a 4-year college or university. Computer Science degree is highly desirable
  • Expert knowledge of Office 365. Particularly Exchange Online administration
  • Expert Knowledge of SCCM
  • Experience with a variety of solutions to support imaging and software packaging (i.e. CloneZilla, ManageEngine, Windows Deployment Services, etc…)
  • Ability to write complex PowerShell Scripts  
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Ability to work in a team environment and execute on project work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with Google Suite Administration
  • Microsoft Certified Professional Certification
  • Experience with writing and/or deploying apps in Node.js
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Experience with Linux OS
  • Experience with Chrome OS
  • Experience with a variety of solutions to support imaging and software packaging (i.e. CloneZilla, ManageEngine, Windows Deployment Services, etc…)
