Overview:

The Inbound Freight Management team is looking for a Transportation Planner to goods in transit from freight pickup to destination port. In addition to this task the team will monitor rate offering to suppliers and capture billing and vendor cost elements into the ocean operating system. You will be responsible to complete these task daily and to work with other ocean team, OPI, BI and CG partners to help standardize operational processes. You will also be supporting leadership in identifying operational challenges, as well as helping to drive for creative solutions.

Inbound Ocean Freight Management is a team of highly driven and self-motivated individuals who are working in a fast-paced and extremely fast-growing environment. Our goal is to manage and drive operational efficiencies within the inbound space by working cross-functionally with teams within CastleGate, Logistics, and Engineering.

In this role you will:

  • Monitor our NVOCC shipments (where we are the actual freight carrier) across countries, carriers, ports, and agents to ensure timely movement of shipments.
  • Identify operational trends that will drive initiatives for process improvement.
  • Alert the ocean exception team to issues requiring their skills for resolution.
  • Monitor Supplier rate agreements for expiration and ensure new rate agreements are file before expiration of existing agreement.
  • Monitor rate with regards to FMC regulations
  • Ensure transportation costs and sell rates are entered into the billing portion of the operating platform: CargoWise
  • Audit rate, costs and FMC regulated items.
  • Work with various teams, such as CastleGate Operations, CastleGate Account Managers, Carrier Performance and more, to ensure that items communicated consistently and properly prioritized or escalated.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, specifically excel
  • Strong administrative skills, ability to prioritize, delegate, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Problem solving mindset with strict attention to detail
  • Previous experience working with cross functional teams
