Associate Director, Direct Mail & Partnerships

Job Description

The Direct Mail and Partnerships AD drives efficient growth within two channels with both acquisition and retention goals. Within Direct Mail, the AD will manage a strategy that flexes based on market maturity and regulation, tailoring acquisition and data partnerships, brand awareness campaigns, and loyalty among existing customers. In this role, the AD will partner closely with Data Science and external vendors to target geographies and measure incremental revenue. The AD will also lead strategy on negotiating with external vendors on Direct Mail and external partners for Partnership strategy. Partnership is a new channel with opportunity to build the playbook for how we enhance trust and loyalty for our brands in differing stages of maturity by geography, continuing to apply the playbook as we grow on the continent. This is an exciting, high visibility role for a driven individual with strong relationship-building ability, communication, and analytical skills.



  • Define KPIs and determine measurement for different direct mail campaigns from order-drivers to brand awareness and establish stretch goals for 3-6-12 month time windows
  • Define, pilot, and rapidly iterate initiatives, with an understanding and strategic view of all internal/external variables
  • Partner with and leverage internal teams to help drive agenda and implementation
  • Nurture and develop partnerships with external stakeholders to drive lower costs, increased placement, net new integrations for Wayfair
  • Drive overall health of the direct mail and partnerships program
  • Monitor channel performance, identify trends, and exploit opportunities for improvement
  • Develop a holistic view of the end-to-end customer experience, identify customer pain points, and build solutions
  • Drive step change performance improvements through innovative strategies and meticulous execution
  • Institute rigorous test-and-learn methodology to achieve results
  • Develop talent within the organization, mentoring/developing teams of analysts and managers



  • Multi-year track record of success driving significant results
  • Experienced Consultant/Principal looking to make the move to Internet commerce leader; or experienced GM or eCommerce leader
  • Ability to communicate effectively to senior and executive management; exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to internal partners
  • Seasoned in managing timelines, delivery, dependencies, communication across teams
  • Comfortable in a data-driven business environment and able to pivot readily based on real-time data
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills including experience managing high-performing teams
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude
  • Familiarity with Excel, SQL, and Test and Learn practices a plus
  • BA with strong academic record (strong preference for quantitative backgrounds: mathematics, economics, etc.); top MBA preferred
