Job Description

Wayfair’s Operations Product Innovation team is looking for an experienced Product Manager. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to understand the organization's internal customer service need, identify gaps in current product capabilities, define product design & functional requirements/capabilities, and execute on those through implementation & deployment (including planning, rollout, post-launch support, etc.).

Who we are: Operations Product Innovation is an internal product management team that seeks to make things run more efficiently and improve operational processes through the use of technology. We analyze the operations of our business (Customer Service, Outbound Sales, Product Catalog Management, Fulfillment, Transportation and Warehousing) and find opportunities to improve customer experience, improve internal team productivity and reduce costs. Then we work with our engineering teams to build systems to realize those opportunities.

In This Role You Will:
  • Partner with leaders and operators in Category Management, Supplier Operations, Merchandising to define business problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Develop proficiency in critical business processes for management of suppliers
  • Identify innovations that drive key business results related to Category Manager effectiveness and Wayfair team collaboration
  • Drive high-impact projects through all phases to completion; business case development, scoping and planning, solution design and implementation management
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed specs for software development
  • Use SQL, data analytics, and other research tools to find patterns and help identify the root causes of issues
  • Review KPI’s and metrics to assess the effectiveness of implemented changes and project the benefit of new proposals
  • Sample projects include:
    • Implement a new Pricing Management system that provides full transparency into active wholesale costs and optimizes for smart pricing changes
    • Integrate analytics and self-serve tools into the Extranet, creating new levers for supplier to improve performance and grow their overall business
Who We're Looking For:
  • Business result orientation: experience driving cross-functional/software projects with tangible business impacts
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets with ability to drive clarity from ambiguity
  • Ability to drive projects cross-functionally and juggle multiple projects simultaneously. This team works across the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bias toward over-communication
  • An easy-going attitude, thick skin, and a strong sense of humor
