Inventory Financial Operations Specialist

Wayfair is currently seeking an Inventory Financial Operations Specialist to work in a fast-growing, complex segment of Wayfair’s Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role will be instrumental in driving the monthly close process for Wayfair-owned inventory to ensure accuracy of financial data. This person will work cross-functionally as a Finance subject matter expert to ensure that inventory accuracy rates improve and financial exposure is limited. The Inventory Financial Operations Specialist must be highly analytical, dedicated, hard-working, and extremely organized. 

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and oversee the completion of the following responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly close of Wayfair’s warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Provide support as a Finance SME on long-term inventory accuracy project
  • Monitor daily bad data alerts and repair as needed
  • Partner with Financial Systems Engineering and Warehouse Engineering to understand how key objectives and initiatives will impact WMS
  • Manage ad hoc projects related to WMS
  • Propose changes to reports or processors as identified in bad data cleanups and steer prioritization of engineering roadmap for WMS


  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience working in a highly detail-oriented environment
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel; SQL a huge plus
  • Proven communication skills both on the phone and email
  • Ability to stay consistently positive, people-oriented and energetic
  • Strong work ethic and a history of meeting tight deadlines
