Software Engineer III (Storefront Engineering/Android Team D) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to lead a team of Android Developers to create a best-in-class Android app; define and scope work for the development team, and help drive the roadmap for development. Advocate outside of the Android Team for “Mobile First” and Android mindshare within the company. Collaborate across Product, Creative, and outside teams to deliver new features. Ensure quality in the Android App to deliver excellent user experience. Define end-to-end technical architecture, standards and development plans. Pilot new technologies. Contribute to the development of a RESTful Service (PHP) required to enable new App features. Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience performing Android development or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience as noted above. One year of experience must include: performing Android development using Java to support multiple languages and devices; performing version control using GIT and SVN; employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding coding standards, maintainability, performance, and thread safety; defining test plans and writing automated unit and UI tests; utilizing and building Jenkins jobs for continuous integration; interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; developing responsive and intuitive apps using activities and fragments, and creating and maintaining automated jobs for building and publishing apps to the Play Store; researching and utilizing appropriate tools including Retrofit, Dagger, Butterknife, Mockito and Espresso; and integrating applications with REST, GraphQL and SOAP endpoints, reviewing code, and providing feedback to development teams.
