Job Description

The End to End Design and Performance team is looking to add a Senior Manager to their group!  They are looking for the right individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, deep passion for analytics, and a desire to lead a ground-up effort to help drive strategic operational initiatives for the company.

Who we are: The End to End team is primarily involved in our Wayfair Delivery Network (WDN) – our national large parcel supply chain delivering packages all the way to the consumer’s home.  Their goals are to drive speed, reliability, and visibility throughout the WDN.  Their work is highly cross-functional, working daily with operation facilities, engineering, and sales and operation teams, to name just a few.  This is an exciting, fast-paced, and high-visibility team looking for leaders who can help disrupt the status quo and redefine an industry.

What you will do:

  • Drive analytics to root cause discrepancies between our freight data and actual products
  • Manage a grassroots effort to improve our weights and dimension records for large parcel freight
  • Proactively identify critical bottlenecks and work with internal teams to get ahead of performance issues
  • Lead cross-functional teams to increase truck utilization and drive down transportation costs
  • Work with freight supplier operations teams to drive carton and labeling compliance
  • Focus on customer experience by driving down carton count / dimension exceptions resulting in unnecessary delays
  • Leverage internal and external sources to innovate and drive change and consistency in our operations
  • Provide guidance and act as a consultant to help our WDN grow and thrive
  • Alert management to any trends associated with performance and put in place correction actions to address
  • Act as business owner for technology strategy to streamline WDN operations & visibility
  • Present data with a clear point of view so that insights can be used to help drive business
  • Travel ~25% to meet with building leadership for standard reviews, technology transitions, or to assist in training
  • Use Microsoft Excel to drive data-based approaches to problem solving

Who you are:

  • You have 6+ years of experience in a supply chain or logistics role, bonus for experience in movements of large goods
  • You have a degree in Supply Chain, Statistics, Economics, Physics or other concentrations with heavy quantitative focus strongly preferred
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including corporate and front-line teams
  • Passionate about solving complex business problems
  • Possess strong written and verbal cross-functional communication skills
  • Positive, people-oriented, and enthusiastic
  • Desire to directly manage others
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office programs and functional knowledge of SQL
