Category Management is composed of Wayfair’s lead merchandising teams focused on generating high revenue growth. Dedicated teams run category-specific businesses, such as furniture, bedding, seasonal décor, lighting, tabletop, and are responsible for managing the overall health of the category, primarily by building and growing strong supplier relationships. In addition to category teams, we have curation-focused teams that drive category strategy through promotions, exclusive brand development, catalog design and site merchandising.
The Finance group sits at the intersection of Wayfair’s brands and functional teams. Each of these small teams provides unique access to the operation and decision-making of the business as a whole, through internal financial diligence and analysis, external communication and marketing of the business and the evaluation of strategic ventures. Previous MBA interns and graduates have played leading roles in restructuring commercial arrangements with media partners, evaluating the efficiency of capital utilization across business lines, performing market and competitor research and triaging acquisition opportunities. Prior banking, consulting or finance experience is preferred.
Awarded best E-Retail marketer in 2017 by Internet Retailer, our Marketing team is responsible for growing brand awareness, acquiring new customers, and getting those customers to come back again. The team is split between our Direct (includes Search, Display, Social Media, Direct Mail, and Email channels) and Brand Marketing (includes TV, Online Video, and Consumer Insights) groups. Teams look for individuals with highly quantitative backgrounds who seek out innovative ways to reach our customers and cultivate loyalty to our brand.
Operations Product Innovation
Product Innovation, an internal consulting team, uses technology to make the business run more efficiently. By analyzing daily operations, the team finds opportunities to improve the customer experience and reduce costs – while collaborating with Engineering to bring these solutions to life.
Pricing and Profitability
The Pricing & Profitability team is responsible for developing pricing strategies and techniques across our different sites, determining the optimal sort order for products, and developing metrics and strategies based on how customers interact with our site. We partner closely with leaders across the Wayfair business to develop and implement pricing strategies and to also utilize our pricing and browsing data to drive broader strategic decisions. We leverage business judgment, big data, and an appetite for bold ideas to manage Wayfair’s price perception with customers and profitability.
The Product Management team is responsible for making the Wayfair sites and apps the best place to shop for your home from any device. Product Managers help define the next generation shopping experience along with the strategy and roadmap for the development of new high-value features and innovations. The team works cross-functionally with engineers, user experience designers, visual designers, and leaders across the organization to bring these innovations to life.
Supply Chain & Logistics
Operations in Wayfair covers a broad based continuum that includes: Supplier Operations, Sales and Service, Product Merchandising, Global Delivery, Customer Experience Center of Excellence, Process Transformation, and more. The Supply Chain & Logistics team develops and executes transformational strategies that generate game-changing competitive advantage and enduring customer satisfaction. Roles in Supply Chain & Logistics combine strategy with hands on execution and the ability to own and drive results. Dedicated teams work directly with suppliers, vendors and customers to provide new levels of efficiency and performance supporting all Wayfair businesses globally. Success relies on innovative problem solving, strong business acumen and quantitative skills and collaboration with external and internal partners.
Driven by a passion for the customer and brand, Site Merchandising teams relentlessly identify and drive improvements to merchandising and the customer experience across all product categories. Through analysis of site metrics and related data, team members develop and execute strategic cross-functional projects that improve conversion rate and drive revenue growth.

Prior experience in Human Resources is not necessary for success on the team; instead we look for candidates with strong business acumen, analytical skills and high EQ.

- Second-year MBA candidates with a strong track record of academic excellence (strong preference for quantitative backgrounds: mathematics, economics, etc.)
- Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
- Strong track record of success with progression in level of responsibility and scope
- Executive presence with ability to clearly and consistently work side-by-side with a broad range of partners and functions from CEO to customer service to deliver against complex initiatives complete on-time, on-budget, and over target
- Able to multi-task, and pivot readily and react to real-time data
- Comfortable in a data-driven business environment
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
- Familiarity with Excel, SQL, and Test and Learn practices is a plus
