Job Description

The Wayfair Inbound Supply Chain Team is looking to add an Ocean Trade Import Compliance Analyst to help support the growth of our ocean program. This person will be responsible for auditing and record keeping related to ocean imports coming to the US. He/She will utilize knowledge of ocean freight imports and supply chain processes, to review all documents related to the import process, assist with auditing of documentation, daily record keeping and related data entry. This person will also be expected to identify and manage quality external transportation partners to create lasting value add.

  • Conduct Audits to review compliance with different Governmental Agencies, such as CBP, FMC and Aphis.
  • Manage Customs Broker and entry operations
  • Generate Negotiated Rate Agreements (NRAs) to our suppliers
  • Data entry and maintenance record keeping for inbound operations
  • Must be able to multi-task and be adaptable to changing deadlines
  • Participate fully with other team members in the day-to-day operations to identify process improvement

Who you are: 

 

  • 1+ years of Ocean Import Operations, Customs Broker, Forwarding Experience, or relevant Supply Chain Experience
  • Experience with CargoWise, IES/Descartes or a similar NVOCC Platform preferred
  • Extreme attention to detail related to data entry and document review
  • High level of proficiency with MS Excel and/or similar program
  • Ability to assign HTS codes
  • Excellent critical thinker and problem solver
  • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to clearly define complex thoughts in writing
    • Ability to adjust communication style and level of detail to flex between senior executives through front-line associates
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • College degree required
